I know some guys(statewide) are throwing 6lb test out there yet they are hesitant to tell...So what size line do you use most often when the bite gets tough? Do you make any changes at all when the bite gets tough or just keep using what you have tied on and hope they bite? Also post some questions you have for our members and the people out there who frequent our site and I will post it on our homepage for months to come conversations. I know the past couple years "fluorocarbon" is getting more and more popular with the top guys(statewide),yet I know from hearing through the grapevine some top guys are still using mono...so that will be one of the questions in months to come as well. Posts: 91 (11/02/08 07:09:34) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I voted 8lb although next year Iam gonna have 1 rod or 1 spool with atleast 6lb for those tougher days,I have tried using 6lb in the past and did nothing but lose fish due to brakeoff,I just cant seem to get use to it,but one thing Iam gonna try to do next year is find a line I have confidence in at this line test and start punching mats as well ! It cast very well on lighter tackel almost no strech, twist and memory. I only used my light action rod once in a tourneyment and did catch some shortys. Learning curve for me this year I used mostly mono except for 40 lb braided on frog rod. I was not used to all the different tecniqus of bass fishing so be prepaid CFBC members I am going to start asking a lot of questions over the long winter. I will start with this one Falcon Low Rider Rods anybody familar with them and what do they think of them?? Jack

TrileneXL on one for shakey heads/soft plastics the other for drop shot. I think in the ultra clear waters we tend to fish, the lighter test gets me more bites.When fun fishing I have an ultralite outfit with 4lb test.Using that I think has been a good tool in helping me learn to play a fish out if need be on light line with a bigger fish.

In general for line, I use mono, fluoro, and braid...depending on the situation and the lure. My problem...I don't love any of the mono or fluoro I use so I am dedicated to experimenting in 09. Vanish Transition and P-Line products may come off the list for me next year.

Posts: 30 (11/03/08 08:27:28) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	10 lb test..and that is a stretch with me.....except for a fraction of the waters we fish in, the northeast is dingy water, and the lack of pressure on most places makes the fish more likely to be caught...I know, thsi is just a preference, but I never seem to have a problem catching fish....

Jack Hi Jack Falcon Lowrider are great rods,I used them for many years,shoot I should go back to using them,I caught more fish then! Unlike some other people in the club who dont have any problems catching fish,I have been having such issue's <clearing throat> Anyway, Yes Jack,they are good rods and should serve you well,I think there might be acouple of the rods I had still circulating in the club possibly? I remember years ago my Dad wouldn't use anything over 8lb test and sometimes 6lb. So it was a big jump for me to use 10lb test. In fact I use 10lb test all all my rods except for 30lb brade on my frog rod and 14lb on my jig rod. I would like to experiment with fluoro but it's so darn expensive. Brian C.

The stuff came off the reel so bad I threw it all away. Other than that, I use 8 lbs test for topwater and wacky rigs and 10 pound for mojo and some crankbaits and fireline for jigs.

Hey Jack Falcon rods are great.When you break them it only cost 10 dollars to get a new rod through their warranty policy.I just had to cash in on that deal.
